Ladies, pull on those sparkling dresses. Gentlemen, straighten those dickie bow-ties! That’s right, it’s time for MY BIG FAT AWARD CEREMONY…STRIKE TWO! *Overhears a few yawns from the audience* As you may have already assumed, it’s a bit like a Greek wedding, but without the plate smashing…Greek music… bride…groom… bridesmaids… best-man…Okay, okay…It’s nothing like a Greek wedding! However, there WILL be dancing and there WILL be copious amounts of imaginary champagne flowing generously throughout the evening (Any excuse to get a little tipsy, right?) Pull up a pew and make yourselves comfortable (*whispers* this is going to be a long night!) it’s time to start the Awards.

*Melodramatic music fills the room*

awards background 1

So, it’s only taken me *Counts fingers with a look of deep concentration across her face* Six months to gather up a whopping 33 awards… wait a minute! Did I just say THIRTY THREE AWARDS? …curtesy of you beautiful people. However, I am here in my Vintage Dior £30 dress from River Island *Coughs* (I’m on a budget, okay!) FINALLY ready to hand out some glorious awards.

Now, I know these awards aren’t everyone’s cup of tea, so I have tried pretty darn hard (seriously, this post has taken days weeks to put together!) to be mindful of those who try to avoid these types of Awards (like the plague!) Guys, I won’t be offended if you don’t wish to accept my awards *Starts crying hysterically and runs off stage*

Okay, so I am back *swiftly wipes tears*

Before the drum-rolling cat takes centre stage, I thought I’d let you know that I have decided to put my own little spin on things (I know, I know… never following the rules!) I have divided my nominees into the following seven categories:

And last but not least, Newbies

So without further ado, I bring you…

1;  Nominate 15- 20 blogs and notify all nominees via their social media/blogs

2; Thank and post the link to the blog that nominated you

3; Share five facts about yourself to your readers

4; Pass these rules on to them

Five facts about me

1: I am addicted to tea. English tea. There, I’ve said it. Now everyone knows *Hangs head in shame*

2: In fact, I am so addicted to tea, I don’t think I could possibly go a day without it. Just the thought is sending me into a panic. Fetch me a brew, quick! I’m hyperventilating!

3: I can’t have a cup of tea without at least ONE biscuit, preferably a Jam ring, dunked into my brew!

4: I despise Earl Grey. You tea snobs aren’t fooling anyone with your ‘Lemon washing-up liquid’ tasting tea!

5: I have never tasted coffee in my life. Not even one sip! However, I adore the smell of it. I could sit in a coffee shop all day and sniff the air. Obviously, I wouldn’t do that. That would be weird!

*Slightly tipsy on the champagne I clamber back on stage * Next up, we have ….

AWARDS beaty

My 7 nominee’s are (In no particular order!)

Gracie at – makeup, skincare and all things beauty related…what’s not to love?

Karen at Now, I know I’m not supposed to have favourites, but heck, Karen is one of my favourite beauty bloggers. She is just adorable! Her videos are great, too! (And that accent… *Deep sigh*)

Nadine at Nadine rocks that beauty and fashion! Two of my favourite things 🙂

 So, what are the rules?

1; Thank the blogger who nominated you & link back to their site.

2; Answer the ten questions sent to you.

3; Make up ten new questions for your nominees to answer.

4; Nominate seven bloggers who you feel deserve the award.

My questions to these lovely girls are:

1; How often do you try to post on your blog?

2; Why do you blog?

3; What is your favourite food?

4; Your favourite item of clothing?

5; Do you have any siblings?

6; What is your guilty pleasure?

7; What is your life motto?

8; Your idea of a perfect day?

9; If you could go anywhere in the world right this minute, where would it be?

10; What is one thing you wish were true but isn’t?

My Questions and Answers

1; If you could go back in time, what year would you travel to? I would like to travel back to Ancient Greece, so I could lounge around in a toga all day, eating grapes and catching some rays!

2; What is your greatest ambition in life? To be the greatest version of myself that I can possibly be. I would also like to be a well-known writer one day, but this would mean I’d actually have to start writing this book I have been planning to write for the past TWO YEARS!

3; University or life experience, which do you feel best prepares you for life? LIFE EXPERIENCE (note the capital letters!) If I hadn’t have experienced all I have experienced in my short(ish) 28 years, I truly believe, I wouldn’t be half the person I am today.

4; If you could listen to only one song for the rest of your life, which song would it be? Probably ‘Hey Ya’ By Outcast. I could never get bored of that song!

5; What’s your worst pet peeve? Oh man, this is a tough one because I have sooooo many. It’s a toss up between rude ‘stuck-up’ people and bad drivers!

6; What was your favourite toy as a kid? Well, I was a bit of a hippy kid at heart, so my favourite toy was a fortune-tellers mystical ball. I truly believed it could tell my fortune, so when I didn’t grow up to marry Peter Andre, I was pretty disappointed.

7; Last thing you bought? Some munchies from the local Kiosk – Three packs of Roundtree’s pastels, a 4 pack of J20 (keeping it hardcore!) and some Angel cake.

8; T.V. show you secretly enjoy? Made in Chelsea. Don’t tell my husband, he’d disown me!

9; One place you could travel right now? A deserted paradise Island. Sand, sea, sun…and SUNSCREEN!!!

10; Who would you want with you if you were stranded on a deserted island? I’m going to keep it cliche and say my husband. At least then, I would have someone I could rumble the coconuts with. 😉

 Seven Facts about Moi…

1; I have a phobia of clowns, confined spaces, people on stilts and dentists!

2; I am Ambidextrous. (Which means I really have to think about which hands my knife and fork go in.)

3; I put on this ‘hard exterior’ front, but when my husband isn’t around, I have been known to weep at films!(And use up several boxes of Kleenex!)

4; I was a Tomboy until the age of eight (when I first discovered the Spice girls) and I would only answer to the name of Roger. (Terrible name, I know!) The funniest thing, my mum just went with it. *Cringe*

5; Speaking of terrible names, I once had a hamster called Roger, who was an expert in escape artistry…or so he liked to believe. One morning, we caught sight of his poor little tail, dangling from the mouth of our cat.

6; When I was a kid, I had pet rats *Shudder* called, Milly and Mary. My mum got lumbered with them when an acquaintance couldn’t home them. (My mum was like the Dr Doolittle of our street!)

7; If I were a real life superhero, I would be ELECTRO WOMAN, on account of the fact I get mini electric shocks several times a day. When I open the car door …BUZZ! When I pick up my phone …ZAPP! When I press the button on the lift …ZING! When I …. You get my drift. Seriously, what’s wrong with me? Am I ….immortal?

1; I once pierced my own nose. Please don’t try this at home folks. It’s extremely dangerous and foolish. (Yes, I was drunk when this happened!)

2; I used to have an intimate body piercing. (I’ll say no more)

3; I first got my ears pierced when I was six. I screamed the place down. My pain threshold wasn’t great before I birthed children.

4; I have several tattoos, ranging from stars, hearts and snowflakes. (Yes, you heard me correctly, I said snowflakes) and no, I don’t know what I was thinking either!

5; I owned a ‘belly chain’ in my youth, which I wore religiously. *Hangs head in shame*

6; I used to paint my eyelids ‘rainbow’ with every colour in eye-shadow compact, until one day, the guy I had a crush on in school, said “What the f*** have you done to your eyelids!” As much as it broke my heart, I was glad he saved me from years of looking like an absolute T*T! My friends told me I looked great. :-

7; I also broke the fashion crime of the century by sporting a pair of ‘Adidas poppers’.

 7 Facts About Moi…

1; I like to kickstart my day with some crumpets and jam.

2; I am incredibly naive at times. I thought hamburgers were made from ham until I was sixteen. I also thought strawberry-flavoured water was made from the water flowing through fields of strawberries.

3; I broke my arm when I was six, trying – and failing – to jump to the fourth monkey bar.

4; My favourite animals are sloths!

5; I wear only one contact lens. Why? Because I have one short sighted eye and one long sighted eye. I had to be awkward, eh? It’s not half bad though *Tumbleweed trundles by* It’s half the price! 😀

6;I used to have a crush on Peter Andre in my youth. I wanted to be his ‘Mysterious Girl’

7; When I get drunk, my Somerset accent comes out *Weeps uncontrollably* but the majority of time, I can keep it under control.

awards newbies

My nominee’s are (In no particular order!)

The lovely lady at – I haven’t been following this lovely lady for long, but I already like what I see!

Mike at – A real mixed bag of creativity!

Laura at – A real ‘feel good’ blog. There’s a little bit for everyone.

Prateek at – A lovely guy with a talent for writing.

Jarrod at – Some great reads; including poetry and short stories!

Ruthie at – A wonderful artist!

Christopher at – A fantastic portfolio of photography.

 So, what are the rules?

1; Insert the award logo onto your post.
2; Answer the seven questions they asked you.
3; Thank the blogger who nominated you.
4; Nominate other bloggers and ask them seven questions and let them know you’ve nominated them!

My 7 questions to these lovely people are:

1; When was the happiest moment of your life?

2; Do you believe in ghosts, and if so, what experiences have you encountered?

3; What’s your favourite Season and why?

4; What’s your favourite thing about blogging?

5; If you were an animal, what would you be and why?

6; What’s your guilty pleasure?

7; How many hours do you need to sleep each night to function optimally?

My Questions

1; Why did you start a blog? It’s cheaper than therapy!

2; Which is the last book you read? It was 50 Shades Darker (Book number two of the 50 Shades of Grey series) Unfortunately, I left this book on a sun lounger  in Turkey, so I won’t be able to continue my nights between the bedsheets reading naughtiness under a torchlight.

3; 2 am party with friends or a 2 am date with coffee and Netflix? 2am party with friends. I’m still a party animal at heart!

4; What’s the one thing you’ve tried plenty of times but have always failed at? I can’t sing to save my life. I have a voice like a tone-deaf hyena being tickled by a monkey.

5; When’s your birthday? The 26th of November (I’ll be venturing into the last year of my twenties *BOO HOO*)

6; What’s your favourite cuisine? That’s a tough one, I love Mexican, Indian and Chinese. Those sizzling fajita’s might just swing the vote for me, though!

7; If you could choose a book to always have by your side for life, which one would it be? “Feel the Fear and Do it Anyway” by Susan Jeffers. This book has saved me during many a pickle. It got me through that time I lived with my mother-in-law *Shudder* for TWO weeks and stopped me shoving a box of Earl Grey up her pompous a***! (And trust me, I was close!)…. I’m just kidding, we get on like a house on fire! *Cockroaches*

awards speech

The speech

(Because every Awards Ceremony needs a speech!)

*Drunkenly stumbles onto the stage and grabs the mic*

*TAP TAP TAP*  Is anyone there?

For those of you who haven’t fallen asleep, or sneakily snuck out while no one was looking, I just wanted to say a BIG thank you…well…for firstly, sticking with me through this tediously long award ceremony, and secondly, to not only the people who have kindly given me these awards, but to EVERYONE who has supported me through my blogging journey. Cor! That sounded a bit hippy, didn’t it? This big fat award ceremony wasn’t about me and my awards, it was about showing my respects to some of the very talented people who have inspired me along the way. Sorry to those I couldn’t give awards to. I follow thousands of blogs and sooooo many of you have inspired me and are equally as deserving of these awards. Fear not! I’m sure they’ll be more award ceremonies to come!

Lastly, I would like to apologise for the long delay in getting this award ceremony together. Some of you gave me these awards *cough* months and months ago! I could give you a bag of excuses, but I won’t… It was just me being a big lazy sloth! Thank you, thank you and thank you. Before I get booed and hissed off the stage, I’ll quickly say my goodbyes and make a run for it. *Runs off stage with hands over head*

33 awards, 80 nominations, a spot of drunken dancing and enough imaginary champagne to sink a ship…and our evening finally draws to an end. It’s been emotional guys, but it’s time to clink our glasses one more time and let those curtains fall.

Until next time, Amigos!
